Guy
G. Mikkelsen
President and CEO
Guy has served as the CEO and President of FSL since 1985.
Previously, as Director of the State Block Grants Administration
for the Arizona Department of Economic Security, Guy directed
the development of the Social Service Block Grant Program,
Low Income Energy Program, Community Services Block Grant,
Federal Commodities, and the Refugee Resettlement Program.
Guy also served as Director of the Human Services Division
for the State of South Dakota after beginning his career
as a child protective services caseworker in Milwaukee
where he was also assigned as chief of staff to the Deputy
Director of the Milwaukee County Department of Public Welfare.
Guy has served on the Catholic Charities USA Commission
on Aging, was a member of the CCUSA Social Policy Committee
and of the Continuum of Care Committee for Catholic Health
Association. Guy is Past Chair of the Central Arizona Services
Shelter (CASS), has chaired the state and local Emergency
Food and Shelter Board for 12 years and has served as an
adjunct faculty at the Arizona State University Graduate
School of Social Work. He has also been a member of two
task forces appointed by Governor Napolitano - Benefits
Check-Up and Work Group on Long Term Care and has supported
development of the 2020 State Aging Plan.
Guy has an undergraduate degree from
Carroll College and a Masters of Social Work from University
of Wisconsin. He
currently serves as a Board member of CASS, the Arizona State
Commission on Housing, and the City of Phoenix Human Services
Commission. Guy is also a recipient of the Bishop Edward A. McCarthy Life Time Achievement Award for serving the poor.

Linda
Martin
Vice President
As Vice President, Linda is responsible for managing FSL community partnerships, developing grants and increasing the circle of FSL donors and volunteers. She is also spearheading FSL’s Caregiver Initiative. Most recently, Linda led the planning and launch of the FSL Caregiver House, a unique training and demonstration facility for adults with disabilities and their caregivers.
Linda has been
involved in the evolution of the wide array of services
currently offered by the Foundation. She
was instrumental in the development of Adult Day Health
Care in Arizona and served as National Delegate in the
role of Public Policy Chair for the National Adult Day
Services Associate (NADSA). She has presented at
national Gerontology conferences on various topics of aging
such as the need for Gero-psychology services in Adult
Day Health Care Centers and was recently highlighted in
the Arizona Woman Magazine as one of five influential women
of nonprofit agencies in Arizona.
Linda holds a Bachelor
in Therapeutic Recreation from Eastern Kentucky University
and a Masters in Organizational Management from the University
of Phoenix. She is
excited about technological changes that are being made
to help individuals needing assistance with activities
of daily living live quality lives, in a non-restrictive
environment. She is passionate about the Foundation’s
mission and is excited about the possibilities that lay
ahead in the field of aging.

John
T. Hansen
Chief of Mission Integration
As Chief of Mission Integration, John is responsible for working with management teams at all levels to coordinate business planning with FSL's mission and strategy. John also coaches FSL development and improvement teams and produces external FSL presentation documents.
After 20 years in Operational Audit
and Total Quality Management with Xerox Corporation,
John also served as the Director of Software Development
Process at SCT Corp. John’s first career was in
college teaching. He taught English literature and writing
at the University of North Carolina where he was a doctoral
candidate.
John holds a B.A Summa Cum Laude in
English from Fordham University and an M.A. in English
from UNC-Chapel Hill. He was awarded a Woodrow Wilson
Fellow and was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa. John
was also a recipient of the Xerox President’s Award
for Outstanding Achievement.

Steve
Hastings
Chief of
Real Estate Services
As Chief of Real Estate Services,
Steve manages the Foundation’s existing portfolio
of multi-family apartment complexes, group homes and
commercial offices. In addition, he directs a full service
real estate department including project feasibility,
predevelopment, acquisition, financing, new construction,
remodeling and operations. Steve
has helped the Foundation become a leading nonprofit proponent
of Green Technology building and Universal Design.
Previously, Steve was the Kansas Regional
Community Reinvestment Officer and Regional Director
for Nations Bank and Bank of America. He also served
as Director of Operations for Owned Public Housing for
the City of Wichita. His experience includes implementation
of the HOME Investment Partnerships Program, Section
8 Family Self-Sufficiency Program and Community Development
Block Grant Home Rehabilitation Job Training Programs.
Steve has served on numerous community
boards including the City of Phoenix Neighborhood and
Housing Committee, the Childhelp Bridge Board, and the Collaborative Refugee Committee. He is a founding
member of Community Housing Services (a Neighborhood Reinvestment
Corp.) and a founding member of CORE (Center City Revitalization
Effort).
Steve’s formal education includes
a Degree from Wichita State University in Real Estate
and Land Use Economics and appraisal training from the
American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers for both single- and multi-family properties.

Carolyn
Hill
Chief of
Clinical Services
As Chief of Clinical Services,
Carolyn is responsible for FSL’s Adult Day Health
Services, Behavioral Health Residential Program and Assisted Living Education Services as well as the Catholic Outreach
Center in the Sun Cities.
Previously Carolyn has been the Director of Care Connection
Home Health Services, a Medicare and private duty agency,
and Division Manager for Revco Convalescent Aides, a durable
medical equipment company. She has also performed in health
delivery and management programs for the New Mexico Department
of Health and Environment, the Area Agency on Aging and
the State of California Health Department.
Carolyn has a Nursing degree from Arizona State University.
She is affiliated with the National Mental Health Association,
the Arizona State University Alumni Association and the
Arizona State Nurses Association.

David
Paddison
Chief Administrative Officer
David is the Foundation’s Chief Administrative Officer with responsibilities for oversight and planning for Finance, Accounting, Risk Management and Management Information Services. He is leading FSL’s efforts to strengthen its infrastructure in anticipation of accelerating growth.
David began his career in the banking industry as Senior Credit Analyst with NationsBank and then as Assistant Vice President of Commercial Lending with First Bank, both in St. Louis. He moved to Arizona to become Vice President of Commercial Lending with Scottsdale Community Bank. David was also owner of Premier Signs and Lighting in Tempe, Arizona where he was responsible for all financial and administrative activities and directly managed projects and daily operations.
David has earned a BA and an MBA from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Society of Human Resource Management.

Carrie
Smith
Chief of In-Home Services
Carrie manages all of FSL’s In-Home
services, including home care, home health, home improvements,
custom in-home services and information and referral. She
is responsible for daily operations and for continuously
improving quality, coordination and effectiveness of services.
Since joining FSL in 1993,
Carrie has served in a wide range of social service and
management roles, including Director of the Tempe Adult
Day Health Care Center. Most recently,
Carrie was Director of FSL’s Home Improvements program
which she grew to a $3M operation, helping thousands of seniors
and low income families remain safely and securely in their
homes.
Carrie has gained national
prominence for her leadership in the field of energy efficiency.
Since 2001, Carrie has been directly involved in the Arizona
Weatherization Program. In 2005, the U.S. Department of
Energy awarded her a National Recognition Award for her
work in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Low Income
Weatherization Program. In 2006 she received the Presidents
Award from the Energy Outwest Board of Directors for her
outstanding leadership and service to the EOW Board of
Directors.
Carrie received a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Arizona
State University and a Master’s in Business Administration
from the University of Phoenix.

Joe
Switalski
Chief of Public Relations and Marketing
Joe is responsible for developing and
maintaining FSL’s
unique brand presence in the Phoenix community. He ensures
that marketing initiatives are aligned with FSL’s
mission and strategy and coordinated across service programs.
Joe is also heavily involved in business development.
With thirty five years of sales and marketing experience
at General Motors, Joe offers FSL a great depth of professional
management expertise. Most recently Joe was Director for
Global Fleet Sales for GM and prior to that Director of
Fleet Forecast Planning and Customer Care. Joe also served
as Brand Manager and Marketing Director for GM Europe in
Germany for four years. His experience covers branding,
marketing, sales, planning, contracting, distribution and
customer services.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Administration
from the General Motors Institute (now Kettering University)
in Flint Michigan. He has also served as an Executive on
Loan to United Way Community Services in Detroit.
