FSL Partnerships
Living in Community and Extending
our Reach
Faith Based Partners
The Foundation for Senior Living is a member of Catholic
Charities USA and counts as its family of partners over
1,600 local Catholic Charities organizations across the
United States, including Catholic Charities Community
Services in Phoenix and Catholic Community Services
in Tucson.
In Phoenix and throughout Arizona, the Foundation for
Senior Living embraces its special mission to improve the
quality of life for seniors, adults with disability and
their caregivers. We continuously reach out to public and
private groups that allow us to better serve all our clients,
regardless of race, religion or economic status and to
extend our services, especially to the most vulnerable.
We are active members of the Arizona Ecumenical Council and
the Arizona Interfaith Movement.
Federal and State Partners
The Foundation for Senior Living has worked with Federal
and State governments to help develop standards of quality
and deliver in-home funded services through the Arizona
Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) and Arizona
Long Term Care System (ALTCS) as well as the Regional
Area Agency on Aging.
Building pilot
projects into successful new programs has been a tradition
at the Foundation for Senior Living. In
1988, for instance, we developed an Adult Foster Care program
to help seniors live in community, and in 1992, we responded
to a State request and began our Assisted Group Living program
to care for previously institutionalized adults with severe
behavioral health conditions.
Local Government Partners
The Foundation
for Senior Living has also developed partnerships with
local governments to serve seniors and disabled adults. Based
on the success of our South Mountain Adult Day Health
Services center, the first in the State of Arizona,
and other nationally certified centers, we have developed
facilities in Tempe and Tolleson in direct partnership
with those cities.
Similarly the Foundation for Senior Living manages Senior
Centers and local Community Action Programs in
the cities of Peoria and Wickenburg.
Community Partners
The Foundation for Senior Living
has actively participated in community groups such as Protecting
Arizona Families Coalition (PAFCO), the Arizona
Community Action Association and the Arizona Food
Bank Association. Our staff has been privileged to
serve in advisory roles with the Governor’s
Council on Aging and Arizona State departments of Economic
Security, Health Services and AHCCCS.
Weatherization and Home Safety Partners
Our commitment to maintaining
safe and comfortable living arrangements for seniors and
families has been pursued through extensive government
and public partnerships, including APS, the Arizona
State Energy Office, Maricopa
County Services Department, SRP, South
West Gas and
ten cities within Maricopa County. In concert with the U.S.
Department of Energy, the Energy
Outwest Leadership Association and the above local
entities, the Foundation provides cooling and energy efficiency
services and professionally trains weatherization vendors
throughout the Southwest region.
