FSL
Caregiver House
A place for learning and
innovative solutions
Few people identify themselves
as family caregivers and yet nearly 80% of adults who receive
care at home rely exclusively on unpaid family members
to keep them safe and comfortable and provide for their
daily personal and medical needs. Family caregivers accept
their roles gladly but are generally unprepared for the
activities and stresses they unquestioningly assume.
Tens of thousands of other caregivers
are paid for their services but face serious challenges
of inadequate training and limited career development.
No wonder we are on the brink of critical shortages of
caregivers to support our growing senior population.
The FSL Caregiver House has
been created to address these critical needs. It is a training
facility, demonstration lab, and information and referral
site designed to educate, support and advocate for family
and paid caregivers as well as for seniors and adults with
disabilities who actively manage their own care needs.
