Fidenzio’s Story

Fidenzio’s life has been anything but easy, but he has always managed to make the best out of every setback that has come his way. Having lost all of his fingers in a bad accident, most of his life has been reliant on the help he’s received from others, while still trying to remain independent. While even on his best days he can feel helpless, he is destined to live in the comfort of his own home for as long as he can.

A registered nurse from FSL’s Home Health visits Fidenzio’s home three days on a weekly basis. Since Fidenzio lives alone, he solely relies on his family and friends for support on the days he does not get a home visit. Planning meals and cooking is one of his main struggles; he receives home delivered meals four days out of the week. On the days that he does not get delivered meals, his niece Anna helps him cook breakfast while he tries to make small dinners on his own.

Luckily for Florenzio, he has been able to lean on and depend on his loved ones during the most difficult years of his life. “My life was very normal before the accident that landed me here. I don’t like feeling like a burden to my loved ones but I do owe a large amount of my independence to my niece Anna. My Angel.” Anna is a full-time student at ASU but does more than just cooking for her dear uncle. She helps him schedule and manage doctor appointments, drives him around town to run errands, and helps with handy work around the house when needed.

Fidenzio is utmost grateful for the assistance he receives from FSL’s Home Health, “I’m fortunate enough to get the care I need, when I need it, thanks to FSL and their staff. They truly make my everyday life easier and more manageable.” Home Health offers tailored services that we ensure will meet your needs.
