For most of our lives, we’re accustomed to our mom taking care of us, whether that’s taking care of our basic needs as a child, teaching us important life skills as an adolescent or teen, or providing support as an adult.

For many people, however, there comes a time when instead of receiving care from our moms, we’re the ones giving it. Depending on the individual needs and situation of your parents, that might mean anything from providing transportation assistance to managing their bills and other household responsibilities to helping with activities of daily living (such as meals, hygiene, and more).

How To Navigate Caring for Elderly Parents

The process of transitioning into a caregiver role isn’t always a smooth one. Particularly if you’re unprepared or don’t have much experience caring for older adults, it can be a steep learning curve.
