Volunteer

We serve over 20,000 Arizonans each year, many of whom rely upon FSL to remain independently at home and in their community. We offer a variety of meaningful volunteer opportunities for both individuals and groups looking to give of their time and talents.

Individual Opportunities

Individual volunteers must complete an application as well as a short telephone interview and background check. Individual volunteer opportunities include:

  • Care by Design Support – calls newly enrolled clients, mails resource packets
  • Friendly Caller – makes calls to lonely or vulnerable adults
  • Technically Skilled Professionals – photographers, videograhers, artists, fitness instructors, beauticians, podiatrists, physical therapists, counselors
  • Client Memory Recorder – records clients’ memories for their family’s benefit
  • General Administrative – filing, scanning, copying, collating
  • Support Group Facilitator – lead groups of caregivers, clients, Veterans

Group Opportunities

Group volunteers must complete an application. FSL staff will conduct a short discovery phone call with the group’s point of contact to ensure a good fit for all. All group participants must sign a waiver form which is provided at the time of the group activity. Group volunteer opportunities include:

  • Community Clean-up – graffiti removal, trash removal of public areas
  • Yard Clean-up – pulling weeds, mowing grass, planting
  • House Painting – exterior house painting
  • In-Kind Drive – collecting food, medical equipment, cleaning items for the benefit of FSL clients
  • Client Parties – interacting with FSL clients in a fun and entertaining activity
  • Special Events – supporting FSL’s events with registration, parking attendants
